
Accident, Sickness & Unemployment insurance (ASU), is also known as mortgage payment
protection. The policy is designed to provide you with a tax free income to meet your mortgage commitments and related
costs, should you be off work sick, have an accident or if you are made redundant (unemployed).
You may choose the amount of income you would like to receive, the income is usually payable for a period of 12/24 months
depending on your choice at the start of the policy.
Policies generally allow you to choose whether you would like the income to be

A.S.U Policies also have a 'deferred period', This is the period you have to wait before
you start receiving the income from the policy after an accident, sickness or being made unemployed. You have the choice
of deferred periods in general 30 or 60 days. You can also have the policy benefit backdated to day 1 after the 30 day deferred period.
You can apply for this insurance if you:

Are aged between 18 and 60 and are permanently resident within the UK

Are actively working for more than 16 hours per week and have been in continuous employment for more than six months before
the insurance start date. You cannot obtain this insurance if you work in temporary or seasonal employment,

Are in good health and know of no impending unemployment or disability, (Any company mergers or takeovers
must be declared).
